Most glass painting problems on this site come down to surface prep, paint type, and curing. Clean glass with alcohol. Let paint cure fully before sealing. Do not assume every acrylic is dishwasher safe.

Acrylic craft paint is common and needs a sealer. Enamel and dedicated glass paints may bake or air-dry depending on the product. Follow the bottle in front of you, not a generic internet rule. Food-contact interiors and rims stay unpainted unless the product is rated for that use.

Typical failures: peeling from oily glass, cloudy sealer from a thick coat, and paint that washes off because it never cured. If a piece will live outdoors, choose a weather-rated sealer. If it will be hand-washed, test one glass before you paint a set.
